How do you tell if your child is underweight, healthy, or overweight?👦🏻👧🏻
Maybe through physical appearance?
Well, relying on physical appearance is not enough nor reliable for children. A child might look “thin” but it does not necessarily mean that he or she is healthy. Or maybe he or she might look “fat” but it also does not mean they are overweight.
An assessment regarding the child’s weight, stature, and age is needed. ✏️📏🗒
Swipe ⬅️to have a look at the tools used to determine the nutritional status of your child (2-20 year olds). These tools are called growth charts that measure the BMI (body mass index) of your child for their age. They will show you where your child stands nutritionally. 📈
And one more thing, ⛔️⛔️⛔️Please please please never label you’re child as thin, slim, or fat. Body shaming at this age and at every age can have a serious impact on the psychological state of the individual.
